K-pop singer Haesoo dies by suicide at the age of 29, police rules out foul play

K-pop singer Haesoo has reportedly been found dead in her hotel room. She passed away at the age of 29 years and apparently a suicide letter was found in the room by the South Korean police. The news of her death came to light when a South Korean media outlet reported on May 15, 2023, that they received calls from organizers stating that the singer would not be attending a scheduled event because of her passing.

Haesoo used to sing the trot (a widely popular genre of Korean music) and was scheduled to perform at the Gwanjumyeon People's Day event in Wanju Gun, Jeollabuk-do on May 20th. The reason for her apparent suicide was not shared. Police has ruled out any foul play in the case.
