Northern Irish actor, Ray Stevenson, who played the role of British Governor Scott Buxton in SS Rajamouli's RRR, passed away at the age of 58 on Sunday. The news was confirmed by his publicist to several international publications. The actor breathed his last 4 days before his birthday (May 25).

According to reports, Ray was hospitalised on the island of Ischia while in production on the film Cassino in Ischia, directed by Frank Ciota. His demise sent a shockwave across the globe. The reason behind his death is yet to be determined. 

Ray was popularly known for playing an Asgardian warrior in the Thor films, and a member of the 13th Legion in HBO’s Rome. He portrayed Dagonet in the film King Arthur.
