Soorma is a sports biopic based on the life of Sandeep Singh, former Indian Hockey team captain. The film released on July 13, 2018, and stars Diljit Dosanjh in the titular role along with Taapsee Pannu, Angad Bedi in important roles. The film has garnered amazing reviews.

The film is an inspirational story about a man who makes it to the national team after many struggles. With one gunshot, he loses everything that he ever had, at the peak of his career. But that is no reason to give up and weep. He gets back up and gets back stronger. Director Shaad Ali arranged for a special screening that was attended by Chitrangda Singh, Angad Bedi, Shabana Azmi, Poonam Dillon, Dia Mirza, Sahil Sangha, Homi Adjania, Anita Shroff Adjania, Baba Azmi, Tanvi Azmi, Vijay Raaz, Zayed Khan, Malaika Parekh.
