Bollywood's 'Tragedy King' Dilip Kumar was buried with full state honours today at the Juhu Qabristan in Santacruz. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, not many people could attend the ceremony. The legendary actor's wife and life partner of 54 years, Saira Banu, was by his side throughout. The burial happened at 5 pm.
Amitabh Bachchan, who called Dilip Sahab his idol, paid his last respects to the legendary actor by visiting the Qabristan. Mr Bachchan was with his son Abhishek Bachchan. They were among the few who got a chance to be at the Qabristan.
Offering condolence to Saira Banu and the family, Mr Bachchan had tweeted, "An institution has gone .. whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written, it shall always be 'before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar'. My duas for peace of his soul and the strength to the family to bear this loss .. Deeply saddened."
