After enthralling patrons of Indian cinema for several decades, Lata Mangeshkar bid adieu to her family members, friends and fans. At the age of 92, she left for her heavenly abode this morning after suffering multi-organ failure and chest congestion. With heavy hearts, she has been cremated at Shivaji Park in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Lata Didi's brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar lit the pyre. As per sources, sandalwood was used instead of regular wood for the cremation. As many as 9 pandits were called to perform the puja and rituals according to the family traditions. 

Celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Rahul Vaidya and many others attended the funeral to pay their last respects.
