Satish Kaushik succumbed to a massive heart attack during the wee hours of Thursday. He was in Delhi to reportedly meet a friend for Holi. The actor-director was 67 years old. The funeral is expected to take place today in Mumbai.

Soon after the news of Satish's demise broke, his best friend Anupam Kher quickly reached his residence in Mumbai. Anupam and Satish were friends for more than 4 decades and did multiple films together. The latter's last film, Emergency, was also with the former. It is scheduled to release in October this year.

In a statement to a media agency, Anupam said, "He (Satish) felt uneasy and he told driver to take him to the hospital and on the way he suffered a heart attack around 1 am." His mortal remains will reach Mumbai this afternoon after the portmortem. 

Satish is survived by his wife Shashi Kaushik and daughter Vanshika Kaushik.
