Yesterday we pointed out how Susanne Khan and Shweta Bachchan didn’t let the past come between them as they partied and posed together comfortably at Shah Rukh’s birthday do in Alibaug. The same cannot be said for Ranbir Kapoor’s exes, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif who continue to avoid each other like the plague. Apparently, it was to avoid running into Deepika, that Kat chose to leave the party early. The reason offered was an urgent professional commitment, and the exit was cleverly timed so as to ensure she would have already left SRK’s sprawling villa before Deepika could make her grand entrance there!

So, while we caught pictures of all the beautiful peeps cosying up to one another for their private photo sessions, both actresses avoided the embarrassment of having to deal with each other, and worse, pretend that they were enjoying it!

Unfortunately, B-town is a small place and both the stunners had to cross each other’s path again the very next day, at the special screening of the Karan Johar-Shah Rukh co-production, Ittefaq! Of course, ignoring your ex-boyfriend’s ex is easier when you’re there to catch a film and can pretend to be oh so riveted by what’s happening onscreen!

One seriously wonders just when Kat and Deepika will be able to put the past behind them and move on – something the once-object of their mutual affection, Ranbir, has managed wonderfully! Admittedly, things didn’t start off well between them at all as Ranbir apparently cheated on Deepika with Katrina. That’s a blow that a woman scorned would find hard to forgive… And what’s worse, more recently when Ranbir was asked to choose between his exes on a podcast, he instantly chose Katrina over Deepika! Talk about rubbing salt in wounds!!

Life, however, seems to conspire to bring them in close proximity, one way or another. While Katrina is the leading lady of Aanand L Rai’s film in which Shah Rukh plays a dwarf, Deepika had been sounding delighted about being invited on board by King Khan himself for a charming cameo! …And so the games continue!
