While many celebrated the new year, in an unfortunate turn of events, it wasn't so for Nikhil Dwivedi. The My Name is Anthony Gonsalves fame lost his father after a prolonged illness on January 2. His father was cremated at the Juhu crematorium.

Bollywood celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Bunty Walia, Atul Agnihotri, etc were present to pay their respects.

Nikhil who was last seen in Tamanchey in 2014, was turning producer with Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor for Veere Di Wedding which stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shikha Talsania. This is Nikhil's first venture into production.
