Bollywood actor John Abraham, whose Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran has been finally locked for release this weekend after legal hassles, was spotted in the capital with co-star Diana Penty.
While John kept it casual in a plain black tee and denim, Diana opted for distressed denim with a black tee and blazer.
In Parmanu, John will bring forth the story of India’s first nuclear test to celluloid. John had earlier said in a statement, “It’s time to embark on a journey to revisit the mission that changed the place of India on the world map and turning the course of modern India’s position in the world as a strong nuclear state.”
For the uninitiated, after India gained independence, the then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, authorised the development of a nuclear programme headed by Dr Homi Jehangir Bhabha. Nehru was an advocate of using nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, but India’s nuclear programme was opposed by the international community. This is why India’s first nuclear test was kept hush-hush wherein even the defence minister of India was not kept in the know, and announced only after the day it was conducted
