2020 is almost gone and left a fashion history worth decades in a single year indeed. MET Gala canceled, Cannes deferred and high-end red carpet soirees and fashion weeks opting for a digital route… wow, that’s a lot to process. But hey, that doesn’t mean that this year did not have sartorial highs. Speaking of the pre-lockdown and COVID-19 phase, we did witness some back-to-back functions and red carpet affairs before the global pandemic of novel Coronavirus dampened the fashion vibe. With shootings halted and tinsel townies self-isolating in their homes, we faced what they called a fashion famine. But as the phases of unlocking begun, our B-town celebs blessed us with a generous dose of fashion as they stepped out for run and grocery shopping dressed in athleisure. Thank god for virtual and digital functions, we also witnessed the Bollywood brigade dressing up from the comfort of their homes.
While 2020 was nothing like we expected it to be, courtesy global pandemic, there were some actresses that held the style fort as they stepped out at their dressy best, not without their masks! They say, the show must go on and these divas did exactly the same.
As we inch towards the final moments of 2020, here’s looking back at all the oh-so-fashionable moments served by our B-town babes and made this pandemic-stricken year a bit better. For those who have been waiting for the Moonwalk this week, what’s the best shoutout for your fav stars than a yearly sartorial roundup?

Unapologetically glamorous, PeeCee pulled out big guns this year with her effortless style. Starting the year with a bang in her romantic pink off-shouldered gown and made our jaws drop with her risqué Grammy outfit.
While the gloomy times of pandemic pulled down the fashion zest, Priyanka still managed to make our hearts skip a beat with her envy-worthy closet. From six-yard staple and structured power-pantsuits to beachwear looks and comfy PJs, nothing could stop PC from pulling off noteworthy looks.
KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN
From an Instagram-debut to announcing her second pregnancy, this was truly an eventful year for Bebo. When it comes to setting and surpassing the benchmark for trendsetting looks, trust no one but Kween K.

ANUSHKA SHARMA
Another mum-to-be on the block, Nush championed the cause of less-is-more for her pregnancy looks. Right from her big baby announcement that took the social media by a storm to date, Nush pulled out some comfy-cute-and-chic dresses from her maternity closet and slayed us with her back to back looks.
Minimal efforts, maximum impact…isn’t that right, Anushka?

Making her presence felt at back-to-back promotions and red carpet events, Deepika and her quirky sartorial sensibilities started 2020 with a bang. As the year progressed, we saw the actress indulging in self-care at the comfort of her home, dressed in athleisure and cute jammies. However, after a long hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the actress was back to the grind as she started shooting for Shakun Batra’s untitled project.
Keeping in mind the city’s hot-yet-cold weather, DP served us some smoking hot as well as comfy looks. Boyfriend jeans and denim hot-shorts to cozy sweatshirts and sexy athleisure, her casually comfy looks served as a masterclass in chic dressing.
ALIA BHATT
From launching a sustainable kidswear label to bagging big projects, though 2020 hasn’t been a great year, it was an eventful one for Alia. Be it visiting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office, making a quick grocery run or attending a virtual fashion show, the actress-turned-entrepreneur never had a dull fashion moment.
For most days, we saw this stunner making an appearance in dressy dresses and breezy salwar suits, but it wasn’t all basic for the beaut. From princess gowns to ethereal lehengas and sexy athleisure, she exhibited a wide range of fashion choices.
KIARA ADVANI
Kiara was a Laxxmi Bomb this year that took us all by surprise. From her boho drapes to ethereal lehengas and popping co-ords, she was quite a treat to our eyes.

With a steady pace, Nora cemented her place in the showbiz and fashion circuit with her sartorial escapades this year. Delivering the best of fashion, she stepped out in extravagant ruffled gowns, fringed bodycon, serene six yards, feminine floral prints and dreamy lehengas.

Hands down, Janhvi brought versatility to the fashion platter that was served this year. From being a saree siren to desi diva and shimmery sexy beaut, this stunner covered every possible trend on the list.
We saw chic scarf tops, daring backless gowns, trendy tie-dyes co-ords and denim jumpsuits peeking from her closet much to our delight.
MALAIKA ARORA
No new name to the fashion fraternity, Malaika kept up with her reputation of being THE diva this year as well. From rocking curve-accentuating athleisure before lockdowns to switching them for BFF Bebo’s kaftans in quarantine times and serving bag on looks post-COVID-recovery, Malla indeed kept the fashion all rolling.
Shimmery sarees to sultry gowns with daring slits, Arora presented the best of both worlds.
KATRINA KAIF
An advocate of all things subtle, Kat managed to shine on in the gloomy times of pandemic with her simple yet catchy sartorial picks.
Quarantined at home, she gave us a chic girl’s guide for lazy dressing. But when need be, she emerged as the glam bomb that she really is!
ANANYA PANDAY
Neither Khali nor Peeli, Ananya had a vibrant fashion year in 2020 (Yes, dressing up to chill in the living room counts as sartorial escapades) Apart from that she gave us a peek into her quarantined life at home and her wardrobe with CosmopolitanXOnly’s monthly issue.
Skipping OTT drama, she opted for slip dresses and athleisure amongst many other things to slay us with her style game.

As the year passed she got more and more experimental and we liked what we saw!

Queen of all things contemporary and yummy-mummy of the tinsel town, Shilpa lived up to her titles this year. Flaunting the best of shimmery gowns and cut out dresses along with six-yard staples, she started a year on a high sartorial note.
During lockdown, we saw this beaut nailing her postures and asanas in quirky athleisure.

During the social-distancing phase, this pretty lass decked up from the comfort of her house and served us some lip-smacking looks that were a pure feast to our sore eyes.
TANYA MANIKTALA

Can’t wait to see what does Tanya brings to the fashion table in 2021.
BHUMI PEDNEKAR
Another surprise package was Bhumi who gave us head-turning looks, this year.
Power pantsuits, chic midis, blingy jumpsuits, ethereal ethnics and glamorous gowns; it won’t be wrong to say Pednekar’s sartorial year was quite versatile despite the lockdown.
VIDYA BALAN
Saree naari of the year, Vidya vouched for the ethos ‘Vocal for Local’ donning a six-yard staple from homegrown and sustainable brands.
But when she was not strutting in her favorite go-to pieces, she presented us with the best of co-ord sets, dreamy salwar suits and popping hued midis and gowns.
SHWETA TRIPATHI
Much like her acting skills, Shweta Tripathi’s wardrobe grew from strength to strength this year. Groovy co-ord sets, modish drapes and chic dresses and glamourous gowns, Shweta kept her best fashion foot forward in 2020.
Crisp, clean and fuss-free looks were the highlight of her sartorial year. Excited to see what’s more in store.
Since not all of them stepped out dressed to the nines, we missed a few of our divas and beauts who would generally top the list any given day. Shout out to these actresses who grabbed the sartorial attention even with their limited appearances this year.
