Wedding bells, tantrums and love affairs gone bust…

Mr Moon is on the prowl,
sneaking slyly behind a cloud
Not much misses his sharp attention
No wonder the stars, they are in tension!

Not just another Virushka rumour?

The grapevine has been abuzz with the Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma (or Virushka as they are fondly called) wedding since the last six months. Now PeepingMoon.com sources reveal that the couple plan to tie the knot at a discreet and simple ceremony abroad on December 12, with just very close family members in attendance!

Looks like curtains for Shraddha-Farhan…

She declined an invitation to be part of the Patna Marathon supposedly because she didn’t want to share the stage with Farhan. They aren’t even on talking terms anymore! The reason could well be that the film his production house had signed her on for, was put on hold, angering the petty actress. In dire need of a hit, after a hat-trick of flops this year, Shraddha has reportedly cut down on her fees and cut Farhan out of her life. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Did you guess the tantrum-throwing star wife??

The lady, who has become a tad too big for her boots, had blasted the airline staff for not promoting her child’s nanny to business class. The senior flight attendant had to bear the brunt of her anger, as the lady raved and ranted and yes, also flung that – ‘Do you know who I am?!!’ – line across. What’s more, she is now going out of her way to carve her own image and identity, minus her famous husband!

Movie pirates left disappointed!

The decision of Padmavati makers to settle matters in India before going ahead with the film’s international release, has poured water over the plans of film pirates across the border. Pirated prints of Padmavati would have hit small market stalls (bakdas) in the neighbouring country within no time of the film releasing in the UK! This would have meant an opportunity for them to make mega bucks. Apparently movie pirates in Pakistan were prepared to pay 7,000 pounds through hawala operators for a print of the film if it reached them within six hours of the film’s release in UK.

Sanya changes, Fatima doesn’t…

The matter of the mysterious status… Aamir’s screen daughter Sanya Malhotra has completed Ritesh Batra’s Photographer opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is now read to start Badhai Ho with Ayushmann Khurrana. And her Facebook details list her as a “former actor” at Aamir Khan Productions. On the other hand, Khan’s other onscreen daughter, Fatima hadn’t changed her Facebook status, perhaps because not only does she continue to work with Aamir in Yash Raj Films’ Thugs of Hindostan, but is still a part of his camp. Both girls interned at Aamir’s production house, learning the finer nuances of filmmaking.

Sorry, but the award doesn’t go to…

Trade sources say had the film come out on December 1, Padmavati would most certainly have been the highest grosser of 2017. Additionally, it would have swept all the awards. Bhansali’s last film Bajirao Mastani had made around Rs.360 crore and picked up a number of awards including seven National Awards, nine Filmfare Awards, seven Screen Awards and 13 IFFA Awards among others in a number of categories. Bhansali’s direction and music, the performances of Priyanka, Ranveer and Deepika, the film’s cinematography, art direction, and costume design all came in for praise. The same was expected of Padmavati. However due to the protests and delay in the release of the film, Bhansali will miss all the awards of 2017. And the major contenders will be Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar.

Sushant’s big fat tantrum…

Controversies continue to hit Kedarnath. Apparently Sushant Singh Rajput is upset with his co-star Sara Ali Khan’s character in their film. After watching a rough edit of the scenes shot so far, he felt it was not up to the mark and has refused to shoot further. He particularly found Sara’s character lacking in depth. Now beleaguered director Abhishek Kapoor has assured that he will make the necessary changes. But will Sushant be pleased? We have our doubts.

Not without our boy!

Buzz goes that the IFFI 2017 organizers, who managed to get Bollywood biggies like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Sridevi, Shahid Kapoor and many others to Goa, had also invited Anil and Sonam to grace a session at the event. But the miffed Kapoor father-daughter duo gave the prestigious event a miss because they failed to extend an invitation to Harshvardhan Kapoor.

History: It’s Tricky!

B-town filmmakers are wary of their epics and biopics after the Padmavati furore. Those with big-ticket period productions on their hands are reportedly taking a second look at what research has gone into their scripts before going to town with their films. These include Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Ajay Devgn’s Taanaji on the exploits of the unsung warrior Subedar Taanjai Malusare, and Akshay Kumar’s Kesari based on the epic Battle of Saragarhi. The makers want to ensure that everything is in order in terms of the script and that they are not hurting the sentiments of any community. Tall order, that!

Ouch, Ranveer out of second Padmavati trailer!

After Ranveer Singh ran away with the lion’s share of the attention in the first trailer, the makers are playing safe for the second. Apparently, it will not feature the brutal and aggressive Allaudin Khilji, but focus on the romance between Deepika Padukone’s Rani Padmavati and her royal consort Maharawal Ratan Singh played by Shahid Kapoor. Sorry, Karni Sena, he will be sorely missed!
