A Kaccha Nimbu Journey
After his impressive work in the digital sphere, Ayush Mehra recently forayed into the OTT world with Netflix's Indian adaptation of workplace comedy, Call My Agent. Overwhelmed by the response to his performance as a young celebrity agent Mehershad, Mehra is now gearing up for his film journey. The actor, known for his Television show Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and YouTube medical drama Operation MBBS is next doing a feature film with Jio Studios. It marks his Bollywood debut — if we don't count his small appearance in Akshay Oberoi and Sandeepa Dhar's 2010 rom-com, Isi Life Mein.
The film is a sports drama, titled Kaccha Nimbu. Yet another Television importee Radhika Madan plays the lead role opposite Mehra in this small-budget project backed by a strong social message. Anurag Basu's assistant Shubham Yogi who's previously directed short films like Glitch, Suno, and Minus One is making his feature directorial debut with it. The film has already been shot and will release early next year on an OTT platform.
Regina's rise in Hindi Cinema
The upcoming year 2022 will mark a new beginning for Regina Cassandra. The South Indian actress — after her unnoticeable Hindi debut with Sonam Kapoor starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga in 2019 — is set to have three back-to-back Hindi projects coming out next year. She will first be seen in Nikkhil Advani and Siddharth Roy Kapur's highly anticipated Sony LIV biographical series, Rocket Boys that stars Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh in the lead role. Regina plays the role of Vikram Sarabhai's wife Mrinalini Sarabhai, the late legendary classical dancer, in this Ajay Pannu directorial. She has two dance performances in the show which have been choreographed by Mrinalini's daughter Mallika Sarabhai.
Regina's second project is a thriller series for Amazon Prime Video. The Raj & DK show stars Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Raashi Khanna in the lead role alongside Regina who essays the role of Sethupathi's wife. The project is nearing completion and will premiere sometime mid-next year. These two shows will be followed by Regina's action-thriller series with Disney+Hotstar. The yet-untitled show directed by Sanak fame Kanishk Varma also stars Befikre and Ajeeb Daastaans actor Armaan Ralhan and Aarya fame Manish Chaudhary in pivotal roles. Samar Khan is backing this show under his Juggernaut Productions banner.
