Indeed, after a long hiatus, fashion made a dramatic comeback in 2021, and man, what a year it was. As we inch towards the final moments of this sartorially high year, let’s take a moment to appreciate the masterminds behind our Bollywood brigade’s oh-so-stunning looks! As they say behind every good-looking celebrity, there is a talented, hardworking stylist! Naturally, our fav tinsel townies do not wake up looking ready to paint the town red. It takes a village to build up a look worth slaying and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that our celebrity stylists would act as its Mayor. They are the guardian angels which our tinsel town celebs rely on for a drool-worthy look.

With so many awards, promotions, and events that went by this year, we saw some seriously good looks sported by our celebrities courtesy, their impeccably talented stylists. Continuing the annual tradition, we are delighted to bring you the stylists of the year, however this year with a fun & fashion twist! We happily collaborated with renowned designers Nikhil Thampi and Masaba Gupta, to bring forth their top picks for the year because what’s better than having the validation from the best?! Having said that, allow Peepingmoon.com and the above-mentioned maestros to present you Bollywood’s best stylists of the year, who made difference, one smashing look at a time!

SHALEENA NATHANI: A UNANIMOUS PICK

Stylist Shaleena Nathani definitely opens the list with the numero uno spot. Bringing out the best of Deepika Padukone and now Tamannaah Bhatia this year, the style architect knows how to experiment with her muse’s style palette without letting them slip out of their comfort zone.

As stated by Masaba, Shaleena ‘merges her client’s style it with her own sensibilities’, giving us the best of both worlds. Not to forget, she has a knack for fashion and her personal style is something to watch out for!

EKA LAKHANI: A UNANIMOUS PICK

It’s not wrong to say that Eka has been on a roll this year with an array of projects and an army of A-list celebrities to style. While Masaba likes the stylist’s ‘panache for balancing classics with the experimental tone,’ it is clearly evident that her style aesthetics is working wonders on her muses Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar and Kiara Advani, Amyra Dastur, to name a few.

Apart from styling celebs, Eka has lent her creative expertise in constructing looks for films like Jug Jug Jio, Shershaah, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Radhe Shyaam, Bhuj: The Pride of India, amongst many others.

AMI PATEL: A UNANIMOUS PICK

Ami has delivered some stunning looks carried effortlessly by Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sara Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif amongst other selected few.

Masaba loves her feminine take on classic looks and we absolutely adore her for striking the balance between modern and classic, all with a touch of trends and glamour.

MOHIT RAI: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Mohit knows how to play with his muse’s strength and construct a look worth turning head to. Gauging the trend of the season, the stylist experiments with new looks, play around with various elements like ruffles, bling, florals and feathers to create a STUNNING look for B-town divas and debonair men.

This year we saw tinsel town’s A-listers like Sonakshi Sinha, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Siddharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor, Alaya F, amongst many others playing his muses.

TANYA GHAVRI: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Bollywood’s go-to stylist Tanya has never failed to bring out THE look from the Bollywood brigade. Adding her chic and refined aesthetic to her client’s style sensibilities, she plays with her client’s strengths and enhances their fashion game furthermore.

Bold power suits, sultry satin dresses, bling, tassels, florals, brocades, shararas, sarees, lehengas, one will find versatility in her styling which is seldom repeated with two of her muses! Actress Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Pooja Hegde, newbies Shanaya Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor turn to this style maven from time to time.

ISHA BHANSALI: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Style architect behind Ayushmann Khurrana’s unconventional appearances, Isha has been breaking gender stereotypes, one look at a time.

Experimenting with holographic pants, metallic and sequined knits, halo as well as oversized jackets and bombers, shiny latex blazers and many other elements, she has been pushing the style envelope with her creative thinking and daring implementations. 

NIKHIL MANSATA: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Majorly responsible for Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s chic looks this year, Nikhil has been serving us back-to-back vintage looks in luxe high-end brands.  Bringing out the big guns in haute couture by Valentino, Dior, and many others, there has been nothing ordinary for this style aficionado while constructing the look.

When he is not curating a look worth drooling upon, Nikhil lends his creative expertise to Business of Fashion’s print magazine and other high-end luxury brand shoots. 

PRANAY JAITLEY & SHAUNAK (WHO WORE WHAT WHEN): BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Who Wore What When, co-founded by Shounak Amonkar and Pranay Jaitly, has now established themselves as the style architects over the years, thanks to their long list of clientele including Bollywood’s bigwigs such as Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Vidya Balan, Sanjana Sanghi, Huma Qureshi, Prateik Babbar, Amruta Subhash, amongst many others.

They opt for modish, edgy and urbane styling with a touch of elegance and sophistication. Apart from styling the celebs, WWWW was a part of some interesting campaign collaborations this year and have also styled A-list magazine publications such as Cosmopolitan India, Brides Today and the Peacock Magazine.  

MANEKA HARISINGHANI: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

The mastermind behind Malaika Arora, Mouni Roy and Nora Fatehi’s sultry looks, Maneka has been serving us some dangerously sexy looks all year long.

Body-hugging dazzling gowns, ultra-chic body cons, dazzling sarees and all things bling…downright glamour has been really her forte!

SUKRITI GROVER: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Sukriti was a constant style maven all year long. Her taste in styling is quite edgy and Kriti Sanon, Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan’s sharp and hot looks vouch for this very fact.

Co-founder of the label Sukriti & Aakriti, she understands the physique of her celebrity clients and picks the best of the lot that matches the actor’s personality.

AASTHA SHARMA: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Aastha kept the fashion spirits lifted this year and presented us with a sartorial treat in form of hot lewks served by glamazon Disha Patani, Kajol Dino Morea, Rakul Preet amongst many others.

LAKSHMI LEHR: BY NIKHIL THAMPI

Lakshmi understands the personality of her muse and creates as well as alters the look according to their vibe. Simply put- she lets her client be in his comfort zone yet tweak up the look to get desirable results.

The creative genius behind Kiara Advani, Alia Bhatt, and B-town’s Bebo Kareena Kapoor Khan’s looks, Lakshmi understands the assignment and never fails to deliver!
