Satya Prakash Srivastava, popularly known as Raju Srivastava was India’s most celebrated comedian-actor who was loved by one-and-all irrespective of age. Raju Srivastava passed away today on September 21, after 0 days of hospitalization at AIIMS, Delhi. He had suffered a heart attack on August 10 while working at a hotel gym. He was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and underwent angioplasty. Since then, he was on the ventilator and never gained consciousness.
Raju was a familiar face on the television and regaled one and all with his exceptional observational comedy and sense of humour. He broke into the Bollywood circuit in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s featuring in several films like Tezaab, Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Abhay, Big Brother and Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa. However, it was The Great Indian Laughter Challenge that catapulted him to the front of the limelight and brought him immense popularity.
