Television actress Surbhi Tiwari, 38 tied the knot with Delhi-based pilot and businessman, Praveen Kumar Sinha in Mumbai on February 10. Surbhi looked resplendent in a maroon lehenga while her groom wore beige and maroon sherwani.

Her pre-wedding functions started with haldi, mehendi and Mata ki Chowki on February 8. The sangeet and cocktail followed the next day. Post their nuptials, the couple will host a wedding reception in Delhi on March 5.

Talking about her wedding, Surbhi said, “I had wanted to marry for the past five years, but I didn’t want to tie the knot with an actor. All they talk about is their shows and ratings. I refused many proposals, as I wanted to talk about other things with my man. So, I took a break from acting to meet guys outside the profession. My mother told me to take up new work only after I got married.”

She further added, ''I am thrilled to see how much efforts have been put by my friends and family members. The dance performances, the games played which included my family ladies was so much fun. Ehsaan Qureshi did a small gig entertaining us with his witty and quirky jokes. I have always wanted a grand wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I wore a yellow saree for my haldi, a navy blue peacock lehenga for the mehendi, a pink gotta patti lehenga for my sangeet and cocktail party and a wine colour lehenga for my wedding.”

Surbhi and Praveen met through common friends. Initially, the actress initially found Praveen  too simple and wanted to reject the match. However, with the course of time, Surbhi found Praveen to be a thorough gentleman and few months later decided to spend her life with him.
