Priyanka Chopra may already have the Hollywood biggies on her speed dial, but Deepika Padukone is slowly racing to the top of the league of India's best imports. The actress attended the Met Gala event in New York City, dressed in a chic and extremely elegant silk crepe strapless gown by Atelier Prabal Gurung.
Deepika, as the designer describes, wore a cardinal gown with hand draped silk gazar sculptural shoulder bloom and side draped chapel train with the Tasaki Atelier white gold, Sakura gold and Akoya pearl Nacreous earring with diamond accent to the 2018 Met Gala celebrating "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."
"The actress' gown is inspired by the choir robes of the holy Cardinals in both structure and hue. Through the brilliant and radiating shade, we nod to the Cardinal virtues of prudence, courage, temperance and justice—values Deepika upholds with grace and poise," Prabal Gurung wrote on Instagram.
Besides turning muse for a renowned designer, Deepika was seen haning out with model Ashley Graham (she featured on her Instagram story as well), mingled with Hailee Steinfield, Diane Kruger and Eiza Gonzalez.

Deepika had walked for Met Gala 2017 because of her Hollywood debut film xXx: The Return of Xander Cage was releasing shortly and people are not likely to forget her outfit. Deepika dressed in a poor fitting ivory white Tommy Hilfiger gown that lacked the oomph needed for the Met Gala. That was last year. This time, she made sure she brought her A-game to the party!
