All the HR fans! Welcome to the world of Happy Hardy Heer - the film is by Himesh for his ardent fans. Be it singing to dancing, to acting (and that too double role), Himesh has done it all, even turning line producer for the film!
The story begins with childhood buddies, Happy (Himesh Reshammiya) and Heer (Sonia Mann). He’s coined as a ‘loser’ and she’s ‘bheja fry’. Happy, happily mocks himself for being a loser in life, be it personally or professionally and takes all the criticism like a pinch of salt. While Heer keeps bashing people for petty reasons. Happy is in love with Heer, but none of the two confess their feelings for each other. When Heer moves to London, Happy follows her to woo his lady love. The story takes a detour when Heer meets Hardy (Himesh Reshammiya), who is born and brought up in London, a successful entrepreneur. Heer falls for Hardy, a twist in the tale of the trio leads to a point where Heer has to choose between her childhood friend and ideal man.
Himesh’s Hardy and Heer are totally different, contrasting characters. The actor-singer manages to strike a chord with distinctive roles. He is pleasant and essays his part with much ease. His efforts onscreen are visible and endearing. Himesh's costumes are one of the highlights of his performances, courtesy wife Sonia Kapoor Reshammiya. Debutante Sonia makes sincere efforts to essay her part. In nutshell, the two hours thirty minutes film is all about Himesh's music, dance, comedy, drama, heartbreak, love and the double bonanza of HR. What doesn't work for the film is the weak screenplay and director Raka fails to create drama and excitement at much-needed junctures.
But nonetheless, Ranu Mondal’s debut track Teri Meri is the highlight of the film. The remix of Aashique Teri is a foot-tapping song and will take the audience back to good old days. And as every Himesh film, the music of Happy Hardy And Heer proves to be its trump card.
