Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas has forayed into Hindi cinema with Chatrapathi. The remake of the 2005 Telugu film of the same name stars Nushrratt Bharuccha, Sharad Kelkar and Bhagyashree in the lead. The film is directed by VV Vinayak whereas the story is by V. Vijayendra Prasad. 

Chatrapathi is about Shiva (Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas) who is separated from his stepmother (Bhagyashree) and stepbrother Ashok (Karan Singh Chhabra). While growing up, he misses his mother who believes her elder child is dead. Shiva is known for his muscles and power. As he takes up a fight with an influential man, Ashok returns with the intention of killing him. What follows next sets the foundation of Chatrapathi.

Chatrapathi is a typical masala commercial potboiler with good-looking dance numbers, intense action sequences, ample drama and family values. It caters to the audience looking forward to being entertained in theatres. While the story might seem outdated, director VV Vinayak keeps the essence of a South Indian film alive. 

Performance-wise, Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas makes a smashing Bollywood debut. He packs punches, dances, and romances and has a good command over the screen. He forms the centre of the film, hence the attention is on him throughout. He does a good job. Nushrratt Bharuccha plays the ladylove of Shiva. She looks like a dream. Though there's not much for her to do apart from dancing and romancing, the actress does a memorable job. She's the sunshine of Chatrapathi.

Sharad Kelkar looks diabolic as the antagonist. He's impactful too. Bhagyashree is adorable as always. Karan Singh Chhabra is good too. Freddy Daruwala shines as one of the antagonists in Chatrapathi. 

Chatrapathi delivers what it promises-entertainment. Watch it for some fun action sequences, fragments of humour, loads of family emotions and of course, a crackling new on-screen pair of Sreenivas and Nushrratt.
