The first episode of Bepannah begins with Zoya (Jennifer Winget) making a handmade clay model as a gift for her husband Yash (Sehban Azmi). She keeps thinking about him. Pooja (Namita Dubey) tries to wake her husband, Aditya (Harshad Chopda). Aditya gets up and acts annoyed with Pooja for disturbing his sleep. Aditya's mother comes and reminds him of Pooja's birthday.

Meanwhile, Zoya makes a heart for Yash and searches for him. She asks her house-helpers if they have seen Yash. They all deny seeing him. Hari Kaka says that he had seen Yash wearing his sweater and going out in the morning.

Zoya says that probably Yash has gone out for his morning walks. She shows everybody the gift made by her and everybody get confused and are unable to figure out the gift. Yash comes and says that he knows that it's Zoya's heart for him. Zoya hugs Yash.

Pooja and Aditya talk to each other but later Aditya apologizes for his absent-mindedness. Pooja, however, forgives him. Her notebook slips from her hand when Aditya tries to tickle her. Aditya insists on reading the notebook but Pooja says it's for her personal use and doesn't like anyone reading it.

Aditya says that he has the right since he is her husband but Pooja says that some secrets are personal and better not shared with anyone. She says that she has to leave for Chennai for some work and asks him to return soon from Kathmandu on her birthday, which is on the following day.

Zoya and Yash discuss their anniversary, which also is on the next day. Suddenly, Yash gets a message and he tells Zoya that he needs to go out but they shall celebrate their anniversary once he's back. On hearing this, Zoya is upset.

But later, Zoya sees off Yash and Pooja too leaves for Chennai.
