The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Suhasini saying that Naira is showing courage, but she must be scared. Swarna says both Naira and Kartik are strong and that the family shouldn't let them fall weak. The doctor tells Naira not to worry and introduces himself as Dr. Mudit. Kartik hopes everything is going on well. He sees Naira running suddenly and runs behind her. Naira tells Kartik that the doctor suggested for a surgery. Naksh and Kartik calm her down.
Manish finds Suhasini worried. She says that she can't see Kartik and Naira upset and thinks of how would they feel on seeing others’ children. Kartik and Naksh ask Naira to tell them what happened. Naira tells how she cannot get her treatment done by a male doctor as she feels awkward. Naksh and Kartik try to persuade her.
Later Naksh comes and Kirti asks about Naira. Naira apologizes to Mudit. Mudit laughs and calms both Naira and Kartik who are in their panic mode. Kartik and Naira sit outside and talk about the chances of surgery getting successful. She asks him not to worry as they just have one option and they should just go for it. He holds her and hugs. She asks him not to tell the family till results come out.
Naitik comes to Goenka house and expresses his opinion against the operation. He says that he cannot let Naira go through it. But Naira insists. Luv and Kush pray for Naira and Kartik's baby. Naitik refuses to give Naira a green signal for the operation thinking of her fear of needles and syringes but Naira insists.
