The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Kartik dreaming of Naira. He wakes up from his sleep and gets annoyed. He drinks alcohol to calm himself down. Next morning Swarna and Manish come to Kartik's room. Swarna while adoring Kartik feels his body heat up and asks Manish not to send him to Mumbai since he isn't well. Manish is adamant on sending Kartik to Mumbai.

Naksh calls up Naitik and asks him whether he saw the papers that were sent. Naitik says that he was busy with Naira's admission and will check once her admission is done. Naksh gets annoyed and Kirti notices it. She tries to cheer him up. Both Naira and Kartik constantly feel as if they are near each other and miss each other. Kartik goes to Mumbai but both miss out on seeing each other despite crossing paths. Later, Kartik reaches the college and so does Naira.

Kartik goes to meet the trustees and sees the names of new admissions. He reads a name as Naina Singhania and goes ahead for his meetings. Naira too comes and reads the name as Naina Singhania. She goes to the college office and gets her name corrected and gets the admission. Manish and Kirti talk to each other about how Naira and Kartik should meet each other and things should get resolved.

Both the Singhania and Goenka families receive an invitation from their common friend for their son's wedding. Swarna and Devyani refuse to go but Manish and Bhabhimaa convince their respective members to come along. Kirti messages both Kartik and Naira to collect some medicines and sends them the same address so that they can meet up. Both head for the same location.
