The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Naira standing still on hearing Kartik's voice. Kartik asks her to leave the class and is unaware of her being Naira as her he hadn't seen her face yet.

He constantly asks her to leave the classroom and Naira stands there shocked. She tries to leave the classroom and slips. Kartik holds her from falling and is shocked to see Naira. They both recollect their past good moments and Naira bursts into tears. She runs away from the class and college.

The students wonder what is wrong with the two. Kartik too leaves the class and goes towards his car. Naira tries calling for a cab but in vain. She cries constantly and is zoned out. A car is about to hit her and a passerby saves her. It suddenly starts to rain and both Kartik and Naira run for shelter. They keep thinking of the past.

Naira thinks of how she had slipped from the terrace and how Naitik and Rajendra has helped her, when Shubham had passed away. Kartik thinks of how Naira wasn't there when he needed her the most when Shubham had passed away. Both live a major misunderstanding. Swarna leaves towards Mumbai and Manish says he too shall join but Swarna refuses. Later her flight gets cancelled.
