The latest episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Naira and Kartik continuing to argue on their way to the venue. Kartik asks Naira about her injury but does not get any answer. She then questions him about his drinking addiction. Kartik says he was forced into the habit after their separation.

Naira gets miffed hearing this and decides to teach him a lesson. Kartik steps out of the car and Naira picks up the alcohol bottle hidden behind the seat and acts drunk. Kartik comes back and finds out that Naira isn't there and looks all around. He finds her sitting atop another car saying that she was drinking because of the sorrows of life.

Kartik confronts Naira about the same and asks her not to do anything wrong. Naira then tells him that he should also be doing the same. She makes him promise that he will not drink again. Naksh and Kirti spend some romantic moments together. Surekha tells Akhilesh that she loved Kirti and Naksh like her own children and just fears Swarna.

Dadi and Manish, too, are worried for Kartik and hope that Swarna does not get angry. Kartik and Naira are out to do some shopping for the party. They reach the venue to check on the decorations and Naira suddenly recalls the times with Kartik Naitik, Manish looks at them and smile.
