The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Naira and Kartik seeing the preparations for Kirti and Naksh's party. They go to a shop to buy clothes for Kirti and Naksh. Naira and Kartik see a dress for each other too. Further, the two go to the venue and check all the arrangements.

They stick a heart cut out at the wall decor and place the cut outs of the letters N and K over it. They realize that their names, too, begin with the same alphabets. They get engrossed in each other. The Goenka's and Singhania's think of reuniting Kartik and Naira before Swarna comes to know of it.

The two constantly keep remembering their old times. Naira and Kartik further meet up at Kirti and Naksh's place and give them their respective dresses to wear. They see new outfits for themselves and get surprised. Naksh and Kirti dress up and go ahead with the party. Naira and Kartik dress up too and are awestruck on seeing each other all decked up. The two further go ahead and host the party. The Goenka's and Singhania's are overwhelmed on seeing the two together.

Sunaina expresses her fear of Swarna's reaction over Kartik and Naira to Akhilesh. Suhasini and Manish overhear the conversation and fear the same. Luv and Kush gift Naira and Kartik the photo frame of 'Kaira'. The couple gets emotional. Swarna at the temple prays for Kartik's welfare. She prays that he could get all the strength to forget Naira and is unaware of the party. Later, Kartik asks Manish to inform Swarna that he is with Naira. Swarna leaves for Mumbai to surprise Kartik.
