The latest episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Swarna sleeping and Naira telling her that she has decided to sign the divorce papers. The papers fall from her hand. Kirti picks them up and gets shocked. Naira gets emotional and asks her to not tell anyone about it and tells her that the differences can never be resolved again.

Kartik comes and overhears everything. He takes away the papers from Kirti and angrily signs the papers. Naira walks away with the divorce papers. The Goenka’s and Singhania’s are shattered to learn of Naira and Kartik's divorce. Suhasini blames Naira for giving up so easily.

Manish defends her and asks Suhasini to not just target Naira. He prays that the divorce papers aren't filed and that they will get them some time to reconsider. Naira comes home. Naitik tries to throw the papers away but she says that she had no other choice as Swarna will never accept her.

Naksh supports her decision. Naitik and Kirti scold them for not telling them before taking a big decision. Naksh says how Naira would always face humiliation and feels bad for her as Kartik never took her side. Naira speaks up saying that she was old enough to make decisions. Naitik feels bad and apologizes for trying to guide her.
