The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Kartik deciding to talk to Naira. Naira is taking the thali of flowers for Pooja where her dupatta catches fire. Kartik notices that and runs to save her. Kartik remembers whatever Suhasini told him about the intuitions. Suhasini gives a donation to the temple on the occasion of Janmashtami. Kartik decides to talk to Naira. All enjoy the celebration organized by the temple's trust. Luv and Kush ask Kartik to join the dahi handi celebration.

Kartik sings a song and also dances with the group. While dancing he notices Naira with her family and applies colour to his face so that no one can recognize him and he comes closer to Naira and sings. Naira identifies him and beams with joy. They both look at each other and imagine themselves as Radha and Krishna. They snap back to reality and feel bad about their separation.

Kartik takes Naira somewhere else. Naksh notices that Naira is standing alone. He does not see Kartik and takes her away. There is an announcement of the dahi handi competition. One of the competitor group requests Naira’s family members to help as they plan to donate the money for the Kerala flood victims. They all ask Kartik to help the group. The announcer declares that the group that does the task in lesser time, will get the prize money. Kartik and Naksh both are there in one group.

Kartik reaches the top and tries to touch the matki but his leg slips and he falls down. All get tensed. Naira somehow manages to get into a boy’s get up and help Kartik's team win. She manages to climb the human pyramid and no one is able to recognize her except Rajshri. Kartik and Naira as a team manage to break the handi and celebrate the festival together.
