Makers of Alia Bhatt's RRR, directed by S S Rajamouli to avoid box office collision with her beau Ranbir Kapoor's Shamshera?

SS Rajamouli was a known face down South but with his blockbuster film Bahubali, he achieved global recognition and the biggest commercial success of his career. With the announcement of his next film RRR featuring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan Teja from the Southern belt while Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn were roped in from Bollywood, the anticipation levels have shot up extremely high. Now, as the magnum opus project is in its filming stage, reports indicate that the makers are in talks for postponing its release. Well, yes. As per trade analysts, RRR, which is currently scheduled to release on July 31, this year, will get pushed to October 2020. However, an official statement is due.

Renowned trade analyst Taran Aadarsh tweeted, "#Xclusiv: Guess this one... The big film - being directed by the #Blockbuster director from South India - will have a new release date... According to sources, the biggie will now release in Oct 2020." Adding to this, Komal Nahta wrote, "Sources have confirmed that S.S Rajamouli's #RRR will now release in October 2020"

Well, if S S Rajamouli's ambitious project gets pushed to October, Ranbir Kapoor's much-awaited film Shamshera, co-starring Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt will avoid clashing with the South biggie, but shall battle it out with Kartik Aaryan's and Kiara Advani's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Talking about RRR, it is a fictitious tale on two Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem played by Ram Charan and Jr NTR respectively.  The film is made on a huge scale of Rs 350-400 crores and is set in the 1920s pre-independence era. Jr.NTR will be seen as Komaram Bheem whereas Ram Charan will be playing Alluri Seetharama Raju. As per reports, Alia will be playing Ram Charan's love interest- Sita while Ajay is his father and will be seen in an extended cameo. Olivia Morris, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson are also a part of the film. RRR directed by SS Rajamouli and produced DVV Danayya is all set to release on July 30, 2020, in 10 languages.
