The rapid spread of the deadly Coronavirus has enabled the world to come to a complete standstill. With the infection multiplying among citizens at an alarming rate, the Central and State Government in India has announced curfew and lockdown in certain cities and states to fight against the virus. Declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, Coronavirus aka COVID-19 is a threat to human lives. Now, with a lockdown, shoots of films, television shows and web content, daily wage employees are facing the brunt. Considering the heavy loss of their income, the Film Employees Federation of South India Union (FEFSI) appealed to celebrities to step ahead and help them out.
Now, in the latest development regarding the relief fund set up, superstar Rajinikanth has extended his helping hand to those in distress. Thalaiva, today, decided to provide financial aid to daily wage employees by contributing Rs. 50 lacs. The amount is apparently 25% of what FEFSI President RK Selvamani had requested for.
