SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Rise Roar Revolt aka RRR is one of the highly awaited films of 2021. Starring the biggest names of South cinema and Bollywood namely Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, this period drama has caught the attention of the audience ever since its announcement. The excitement naturally shot up as the motion poster and logo were unveiled on March 25. While it is clear that RRR will revolve around Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR), fans are curious to know more about Alia's character. Talking about the same during an interview with an entertainment portal, Rajamouli revealed that the actress's role will not account for a love triangle as she isn't cast opposite anyone. The filmmaker went on to add the reason for bringing Alia on board.
“I need an actress who can stand her ground between Tarak (NTR Jr) and Charan (Ramcharan Teja) both of whom are extremely talented actors. She can be innocent, vulnerable yet be extremely resilient. That is the reason I went for her. By the way, this is not a triangle love story. So she is not cast opposite both the heroes,” Rajamouli told.
Rajamouli, who was looking forward to shooting with the Raazi actress this month, told that the team will have to re-work on the schedule due to the lockdown. “The shoot with Alia which was supposed to happen this month got cancelled due to the pandemic. We need to re-work the dates and schedules. I am looking forward to working with her,” Rajamouli said.
Speaking of the scale of RRR, the ace filmmaker said due to a good star cast and their popularity, the content will get a pan-India appeal. “In a large-scale film, it is very important that there is a perfect balance between art and commerce. One cannot be sacrificed for the sake of the other. Yes, it is also very good that their star status helps the pan India appeal,” Rajamouli added.
RRR will release on January 8, 2021.
