Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' to release in two parts? Lyca Productions finally addresses the rumours

Kamal Haasan's ambitious project Indian 2 marks the reunion of Kamal and filmmaker Shankar after two decades, and also features Rakul Preet Singh, along with Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth and Priya Bhavani Shankar in crucial roles. In the film, Siddharth is reportedly playing Kamal Haasan's grandson. Interestingly, the film will mark the return of Kamal as ruthless vigilante Senapathy, a character that became popular on the release of the first film in 1996.

Now according to latest reports, the makers of the film are thinking to release it in two parts. Apparently, the team had completed only 60 percent of the film and still has six-hours of footage on the editing table. Thus, they decided to release the film in two parts, similar to the Baahubali series. However, Lyca Productions has denied the claims.

In an interaction with a leading portal, the spokesperson of the production house, clarified, "For the past few days, there are a lot of rumours around the film, and we are quite upset about it. The film will not be released in two parts as widely speculated. The editing works are progressing at a brisk pace and hopefully, the shoot will resume post lockdown." Albeit, the official announcement regarding the project is yet to be made.

Meanwhile, the film was in the news recently when a crane accident at a shooting spot of Indian 2 left three persons dead and 12 injured.
