Prabhas, on Tuesday morning, announced his 22nd film. Titled Adipurush, the action-thriller will be directed by Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior fame Om Raut. While Adipurush promises to be a grand visual treat, details of the film are kept under tight wraps. As the excitement shot up high, director Nag Ashwin shared a major update regarding the film on his Twitter account. In a tweet wishing good luck to the team of Adipurush, Nag Ashwin dropped in a hint that Prabhas will be playing the role of Ram in the magnum opus 3D film.
"Very excited to see prabhas garu as Lord Rama...only very few actors have played him on the big screen before...good luck to the whole team," Nag Ashwin tweeted. For the unversed, he will be directing Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the former's 21st film. However, there is no official confirmation from Adipurush's team.

While announcing the film, Prabhas shared a motion poster wherein one could see graphics of Ravan along with Ram pointing his bow and arrow at the sky. "Celebrating the victory of good over evil... Title Announcement #Adipurush," Prabhas wrote.
Adipurush which is based on a popular chapter of Indian mythology, will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair. The film is currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors in 2021. It will release in theatres in 2022. Adipurush will be shot in Hindi and Telugu and is said to be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The makers are expected to announce the antagonist's name soon.
