Vijay's 'Vettaikaran' director Babu Sivan passes away at 54

Director Babu Sivan, who directed Vijay's and Anushka's Vettaikaran in 2009 has passed away. The filmmaker was 54 years old. Reportedly, he was undergoing treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Government hospital in Chennai. According to reports, Babu Sivan had fallen unconscious two days ago and was admitted to the hospital.

Unfortunately, he passed away yesterday. The director is said to have passed away due to liver failure. His mortal remains will be kept at his house in Madambakkam, Chennai for homage. Vijay's fans have been sending condolence messages on social media.

It is being said that since Babu Sivan was out of work for the past couple of years, he was facing financial troubles. Initially, he was admitted to a private hospital and was later shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government hospital.

The doctors who treated Babu Sivan suggested dialysis as his kidney functioning was extremely poor. However, he succumbed to illness and breathed his last on Wednesday.
