Kannada filmmaker Vijay Reddy passes away at 84; Puneet Rajkumar and Srinath pay tribute

Renowned Kannada filmmaker Vijay Reddy passed away on Friday evening after prolonged illness. He was 87 years old. He has directed super hit Kannada films like Rangamahal Rahasya, Gandhada Gudi, Mayura, Naa Ninna Bidalaare, Srinivasa Kalyana, Sanaadi Appanna and Karnataka Suputhra. Apart from directing over 40 Kannada films, he has also directed Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam movies as well. Now, South actors have paid tribute to Vijay. 

Actor Puneet Rajkumar paid his condolences to the film director and wrote, "Vijay Reddy, who directed the father's unforgettable films, Gandhagadudi, Mayura, Naan Nee Naal and Halavara, has passed away. I am fortunate that I have acted in the Bhakta Prahlada film directed by him. May their soul be calm."

Mourning the death of thee filmmaker, Srinath said, “In the first two movies that Vijay Reddy directed in Kannada, I acted as a hero. Since then our friendship started growing stronger. We used to speak over the phone at least once a month. When I spoke to him last, he had spoken about his ill-health. It is sad that we have lost a legendary director. As a person, he was very calm, always had a smile on his face and whatever be the circumstances, he never lost his temper. Let his soul rest in peace.”(Source: Twitter)
