Vijay Sethupathi is one of the most promising actors of the Southern film fraternity. Now, after starring in the recently released Tamil film Ka Pae Ranasingam, Vijay will be seen playing the role of Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan in his biopic. Adding to the excitement, the makers released the film's motion poster. Titled 800, the sports drama is directed by MS Sripathy.
In the motion poster, glimpses of Muttiah’s life in Sri Lanka is highlighted. It traces his journey from becoming a cricketer to facing violence since his childhood. 800 promises to explore the layers of Muttiah’s story and shed light on what made him a successful spinner.

According to reports, Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan will be in the female lead. 800 is produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and Vivek Rangachari. The release date hasn't been announced yet. As per reports, 800 will be shot in Sri Lanka, U.K, Australia and India. The film is said to go on floors early next year. It will be primarily shot in Tamil and will reportedly be dubbed in all South Indian languages along with Hindi, Bengali, and Sinhalese. For the global audience, a version with English subtitles is reportedly on the cards.
