Kannada actor Arjun Gowda turns into an ambulance driver to help people amid Covid-19 spike

Kannada actor Arjun Gowda is going an extra mile in helping people suffering from COVID-19. The actor has turned an ambulance driver to help those people who are in dire need in this pandemic. The initiative is called Project Smile Trust. He is not only helping people get to hospital but also helping them with last rites.

Talking about his endeavours and the initiative, Arjun told a leading daily, “I've been on the road for a couple of days and I've already helped out around half a dozen people with assistance for final rites. We want to ensure that we help out anyone in need irrespective of where they come from or what religion they practice. I'm also ready to travel across town for help.”

He further added, “I ended up taking someone who lives in Kengeri all the way to Whitefield to get them admitted in the hospital. I plan on continuing with this help for the next couple of months as the current situation is quite bad and I want to do my bit to people in whatever little way that I can.” Arjun also said that he is also ready to help with the delivering of oxygen for those in need.           

Sharing a snippet of a news article featuring him on his unverified social media account, an excerpt from his post read, "I have taken all necessary precautions and also necessary training... Am overwhelmed for your wishes, this means a lot to me. It's my commitment and my honour to serve and work for the people of Karnataka."

Arjun is best-known for his performances in films such as Yuvarathnaa, Odeya, Rustum and Aa Drushya, to name a few.
