Mani Ratnam’s period drama Ponniyin Selvan got a new poster today, unveiled by Lyca Productions. The film is being made in two parts and will hit the theatres in 2022. The film has a stellar ensemble cast and is touted to be Ratnam’s most ambitious project. It stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Ashwin Kakumanu in pivotal roles. The new poster depicts the golden era coming back to life. The film is based on the Tamil novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy.

Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to make her Kannada film debut opposite Kichcha Sudeep in Vikrant Rona. The actress opened up about working alongside Sudeep and resuming work after the COVID-19 second wave halted production. Jacqueline told a leading daily, “At this stage, all I can say is that it’s a well-etched-out role and my character gives a new dimension to the way the story progresses. Sudeep sir is a fantastic actor and to share the screen space with him is an opportunity that doesn’t come by every day.” She further spoke about being in front of the camera after a while and said, “It feels great to do what I love the most. The pandemic came and brought everything to a standstill. Now that we’re all slowly making our way back to the sets and I am glad to start with this film.” Vikrant Rona director Anup Bhandari spoke about Jacqueline’s casting in the film and said, “The producer suggested her name and we approached her. She heard the graph of the character and was happy to be a part of the project.” Producer Jack Manjunath also shared his view on Jacqueline’s presence in the film and said, “Her body of work testifies to her being a crowd-puller. Although not much about her role can be revealed at this point, I promise you that her entry spurs a turn of events that will be worth watching out for.

Siddharth, is well known for calling a spade, a spade. Today, he took to Twitter to talk about a YouTube video that claims he is dead. The video claimed that Siddharth has passed away at a young age. The video is not a recent one and was shared three years ago. It shares mug shots of Soundarya, Siddharth and Aarthi Agarwal and bears the title- 10 South Indian Celebrities Who Died Young. While Soundarya and Aarthi are no more, Siddharth is very much alive and active in films. A Twitter user had shared the screenshot of the video tagging the actor. To this, the actor replied that he had raised his voice against it and reported the video for spreading fake and hoax news to YouTube but the platform left him perplexed and shocked with its response as it did not find ay discrepancies whatsoever. According to the actor, YouTube replied saying, "Sorry there seems to be no problem with this video." Sharing the tweet, Siddharth wrote, "I reported to youtube about this video claiming I'm dead. Many years ago. They replied "Sorry there seems to be no problem with this video". Me: ada paavi (sic)."
