Tamil film Koozhangal has been selected as India's official entry to the 94th Academy Awards aka Oscars 2022. The film will only be eligible for the award if its finds a place on the nomination list. Koozhangal has been produced by Nayanhara and Vignesh Shivan and is directed by PS Vinothraj. Vignesh took to Twitter to share the happy news.
Koozhangal was picked up from a list of 14 films that also included Vidya Balan's Sherni and Vicky Kaushal's Sardar Udham. The list was compiled by a 15-member jury who selected the film after going through a screening process.

Koozhangal showcases the story of a young boy and his equation with his violent, alcoholic an dabusive father that leads him on a quest to fetch back his mother. The film's music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and has already received several awards at various film festivals.
