The youngest child of matinee idol Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, passed away this afternoon after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. The recipient of the National Award was 46 years old.
According to reports, Puneeth suffered a cardiac arrest while working out in a gym this morning. He was taken to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru after he experienced pain in his chest. He was admitted to the hospital at 11.30 am and his condition was critical.

The first person to confirm the news was Sonu Sood. On Twitter, he wrote, "Heartbroken. Will always miss you my brother."

Erica Fernandes, who worked with Puneeth in Ninnindale, tweeted, "I am in a state of shock right now ! Just cant process this news .. For someone who was particular about his health .. gone way too soon Puneeth gone way too soon #PuneethRajkumar RIP Appu."

Puneeth was fondly called Appu. As per reports, the Karnataka Government declared high alert in the state and also ordered to shut all cinema halls.
