After clearing countless obstacles, the shoot of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 has resumed today. The film came to an abrupt halt in 2020 after a fatal mishap and the subsequent coronavirus lockdown. Reportedly, Indian 2 is being shot in Chennai.
Sharing the new poster of Indian 2, Shankar wrote, "Good morning Indians, we are glad to announce that the remaining shoot for Indian 2 is commencing today! Need all of your support and wishes."

Kamal confirmed that he will be resuming the film's shoot in September. Sharing the same poster, he wrote, "Filming for #Indian2 from September. Wishing team @shanmughamshankar #subaskaran @lyca_productions and everyone else involved a successful journey. Welcome onboard thambi @udhay_stalin @redgiantmovies_"
Alongside Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal will play as the female lead. The cast includes Nedumudi Venu, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Delhi Ganesh and Vivek. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in for music and cinematographer Rathnavelu is the DoP. Writers Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar were also signed to help with the script of the project.
