Nandamuri Balakrishna’s speech from the success bash of Veera Simha Reddy has become the headlines. The actor courted controversy after he spoke disrespectfully towards veteran Telugu actors Akkineni Nageswara Rao and SV Ranga Rao. Now, the grandsons of ANR and actors Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni reacted with a fitting reply to Balakrishna with a statement shared on social media. However, their father and superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni has not commented on the controversy. Balakrishna also received tremendous backlash for his disrespectful attitude by netizens and fans.
Speaking at the event, Balakrishna made a scathing remark on legendary actors Akkineni Nageswara Rao and SV Ranga Rao as he compared them to his father Sr.NTR and said, “My father Sr NTR had some contemporaries, aa Ranga Rao (referring to SV Ranga Rao), Akkineni, Thokkineni, and some others." Akkineni Nageswara Rao and SV Ranga Rao were contemporaries of Sr.NTR and are known as the pillars of Telugu cinema.

Responding to Balakrishna’s jibe, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni issued a statement that read, “Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao garu, Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu and S.V Ranga Rao garu's creative contributions have been the pride and pillars of Telugu Cinema. Disrespecting them is degrading ourselves."
