Actor and politician Taraka Ratna, 39, passed away yesterday, on February 18, after suffering a heart attack. He had been in a coma since last month after suffering a cardiac arrest earlier on January 27, 2023. Taraka Ratna had accompanied political leader Nara Lokesh on his Yuvagalam Padayatra in Andhra Pradesh on January 27 when he collapsed suddenly during the procession and was rushed to a hospital in Kuppam but his condition remained critical. He was later taken to Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Bengaluru where he died on Saturday. Taraka Ratna was the cousin of Jr.NTR.
Taraka Ratna was the grandson of legendary film actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao and son of Nandamuri Mohan Krishna. Taraka Ratna’s mortal remains have reached his home in Mokila, Rangareddy district. Celebrities and several fans are expected to come and pay their final respects today. His demise has been mourned by several celebs like Ravi Teja, Mahesh Babu, Nandini Reddy, Vamsi Shekar, Sampath Nandi as well as Jana Sena party president and actor Pawan Kalyan.

Taraka Ratna made his debut with the film Okato number Kurradu in 2002. Some of his other notable films include Taarak, Bhadradri Ramudu, Nadeeshwarudu, Eduru Leni Alexander and Yuva Ratna. He was also a recipient of the Nandi award for his role in the film Amaravathi. He also recently seen in web series titled 9 hour.
Taraka Ratna was launched with a lot of fanfare by the NTR family with as many as nine films announced on a single day. He is survived by his wife Alekhya and a daughter.
