Here is proof that there are no permanent enemies in showbiz. In a move that’s going to surprise and delight fans of Kapil Sharma, Colors has invited the comedian and actor to promote his November 24 Bollywood release Firangi on its prize-winning reality show Bigg Boss 11.
An undeniable coldness had crept into the two-and-half-year cordial relationship Kapil had with Colors after his show Comedy Nights with Kapil came to an abrupt end in January 2016. Raj Nayak, the channel’s COO, was reported to have said that success had gone to Kapil’s head. The comedian was also accused of violating his contract with Colors owing to money matters.
But all that appears to have been forgotten. And Peeping Moon.com has reliably learned that Colors, letting bygones be bygones, has invited Kapil to promote Firangi on Bigg Boss 11 with Salman Khan. But there is a hitch. Kapil, being Kapil, is keen to design the format of this special episode himself. And he has reportedly worked out a plan with his Firangi director and close friend, Rajiev Dhingra.
What Kapil wants to do is take a diary to the Bigg Boss House in which he will encourage all the contestants to write down their problems and other issues. Kapil does not them to air their grievances publicly on national television. He will interact with the participants and then take the diary of their complaints to Salman.
How this is going to help is not known. Or whether Kapil’s strategy will convert the participants and make them behave more politely and maturely with one another. Moreover, sources on Colors wonder how Kapil’s plan will promote his film. And then there’s another fear expressed by Kapil himself. The television superstar who was unceremoniously ousted from Colors was overheard saying worriedly, “What if Salman Khan is sitting with a diary himself which if full of complaints about me!”
