Rajeev Khandelwal, who is returning to the Balaji camp with one of its most anticipated web series, is seen essaying the role of Dr. Naushad Rizvi, in an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic drama Little Women. Intense, brooding and the ever-so-charismatic, Rajeev is back in probably in his most-loved avatar, like 2013's Kahiin Toh Hoga fame Sujal. Standing tall and posied in her role is her co-star Surveen Chawla, who essays the role of a responsible and level-headed aspiring doctor Meher, trying to find love in the cold heartlands of Kashmir.
Shadowed by the politics of the state, where a woman is oppressed and faces backlash, physical and emotional, if she voices an opinion, the series is expertly helmed by director Ken Ghosh. The breathtaking cinematography is another feather in the Haq Se's makers cap, which promises to be a different experience from the run-of-the-mill shows on TV.
Also starring Parul Gulati, Simone Singh, Rukhsar, Aanchal Sharma, Nikeesha Rangwala, Pavail Gulati, Karanvir Sharma in pivotal roles, Haq Se has been shot in real locations of Kashmir. Due to a lot of unrest in Kashmir, the team had to cheat shoot it in other hilly terrains closer to Kashmir, like Manali.
In Rajeev's words, Haq Se may just leave viewers thinking about our Kashmir without taking sides. It is not about giving an opinion. It’s about just making you think with Kashmir in the backdrop. And we couldn't agree more.
Produced by Manor Rama Pictures, Haq Se is a story based on four sisters, their loves, their lives, and their ambition that is bound by the situation in Kashmir. The series will release on Alt Balaji app soon.
