Commander K. M. Nanavati vs. the State of Maharashtra, the 1959 court case that took the nation by storm after Naval Commander Manekshaw Nanavati was tried for the murder of his wife was the last case to be heard as a jury trial in India. The 2016 Akshay Kumar starrer 'Rustom' was inspired by the case and now a web series based on the same is under works by ALTBalaji.
The digital platform house has roped in Jolly LLB director, Subhash Kapoor for the upcoming original. This is yet another big announcement by ALTBalaji in just one week after they also brought in writer-director Habib Faisal. The show is still in its pre-production stage and the cast is yet to be finalized.

This would be Subhash's first digital debut with ALTBalaji. The filmmaker has previously directed satirical hits such as Phas Gaya Re Obama, Jolly LLB and Jolly LLB2.
2018 has been a great year for ALTBalaji with their shows such as ‘The Test Case’ and ‘Haq Se’ garnering a lot of support and love from the viewers. With many more engaging and interesting #ALTBalajiOriginals in the pipeline, it's no surprise the digital platform is on the roll.
