Director Rajkumar Hirani's Sanjay Dutt Biopic, Sanju, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role has been a hit since its first show. Within no time, the film made its way to the 300 crore club at the box office and is currently raking in over Rs 340 crore.
Well, it would not be wrong to say that Sanjay Dutt’s life has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. Be it his personal life being under a constant radar or his journey from being termed as a terrorist to finally be a free man after years of trial, it’s obvious that the ups and downs of his life managed to fascinate the PK director so much that he decided to make a biopic on him. However, due to the film format, Sanju showcased only bits and pieces of the Munnabhai actor's life.
Now looking at the film's response and the eagerness of the audience to know more and more about Sanjay's life, buzz is that an internationally renowned digital platform desires to make a web-series on his journey. Apparently, the makers have already reached out to Sanjay Dutt's Productions to make a three-part series. "The idea is to make a huge show which will give an insight to more detailed and hard-hitting aspects of his life." revealed a source.
Well, Sanju has certainly created even more excitement to know the nuanced details of everything that actually went down into making him the Sanjay Dutt we see today. Meanwhile, if the project gets a nod from the actor or not, is still left to be seen.
For the unversed, controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma is also in the running to make the 'real' biopic of the life of Dutt, which as per RGV, will be raw, honest and dark.
