Netflix's first Indian original series Sacred Games became an instant success ever since its first season aired on the streaming platform. The web-show, starring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte in leads, received a fabulous response from the audience. Moreover, it would not be wrong to say that the fans are awaiting its second season now with bated breath. But now if a recent report in a leading daily is to be believed, the shoot of Sacred Games 2 has been postponed for now.
As per the report, the first season of the crime saga failed to garner the desired viewership numbers, despite being applauded by the critics as well. A trade source informed the daily, "Sacred Games was made on a huge budget, but its viewership has been limited. As a result, it has not been able to bring in the numbers it was expected to."

Another trade source further added, "The OTT platform, which backed the project, has decided to meet the makers of the show. They reportedly want to re-evaluate the budget before starting the second season."
Well, we hope it all goes well and we get to witness the larger-than-life gangster-cop drama soon.
Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that the shooting of Sacred Games season 2 will commence in November in Mumbai. When the daily quizzed Saif's and Nawaz’s representatives about the shoot, they revealed that the actors will only be able to fit the dates after mid-November due to prior professional commitments. While Nawaz begins Motichoor Chaknachoor in a few days, Saif is still busy shooting for Navdeep Singh’s Hunter.
Sacred Games is based on Vikram Chandra's novel titled by the same name.
