Sacred Games 2: Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui get a fee hike for Netflix original?

Netflix's first Indian original series Sacred Games made its mark among the audience worldwide not only for its gripping story line but for the fabulous performances delivered by lead actors, Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as well. Adding to the excitement, the makers announced the much anticipated second season of the web-show on September 21. Now we hear that both Saif and Nawazuddin have received a hike in their compensation fees, owing to the show's popularity.

A source revealed to a leading daily, "Sacred Games became the first Indian web-series to make such a huge impact on a global platform. Since the first season was so well received, the makers have now decided to mount the second season of the show on a greater scale and have doubled their budgets. If that wasn't all, both Nawazuddin and Saif have received a hike in their fees given that their performances were so well received and were praised by critics across the globe."

Meanwhile, the season 2 of Sacred Games will pick up from where it left and further explore how Sartaj Singh (Saif) pursues his battle to save Mumbai as he dives deep into Ganesh Gaitonde's (Nawazuddin) past. Pankaj Tripathi, who was seen in a cameo role of a godman named Guru Ji, will play the central role alongside Nawaz in the second part.

Interestingly, PeepingMoon had earlier informed you that Masaan fame director Neeraj Ghaywan has come on board to direct Saif Ali Khan's portions in the upcoming season. Well, we certainly cannot wait to witness the latest season of this larger-than-life gangster-cop saga.
