ALTBalaji’s latest offering Boken But Beautiful stars Vikrant Massey and Harleen Sethi in the lead roles. The series is a romantic drama that deals with the pain of lost love and the necessity and the importance of letting go and finding a new one. Vikrant plays Veer who is still hung up on his love for his dead wife whereas Harleen plays Sameera who is vying for the love and affection of an ex-boyfriend.
Vikrant and Harleen play two completely shattered souls who find love, solace and peace in one another. In one of the episodes, Vikrant says, “It seriously felt nice to know that someone is as f***ed up and as broken like me.” Another gem that he shoots as Harleen is that one should not love someone too much that it takes the shape of an obsession. The series tells us that the way a broken heart can be mended is through pieces of another heart which is as damaged as the other one.

In the series in a bizarre turn of events, Vikrant’s and Harleen’s character meet and come together to help each other overcome their broken selves. Harleen (Sameera) asks him to help her out to get over her ex-boyfriend Kartik by making him jealous. In this process, she starts falling a little for Vikrant unknowingly.
On the other hand, Vikrant who is grappling with his wife’s death is unable to form any sort of meaningful attachment with any other woman as he is still hung up on her and talks to his dead wife. He even says that he prefers being called a crazy man who still talks to his dead wife rather than a normal man who has overcome the grief. However, he starts to have feelings for Harleen as he feels she is similarly broken like him. The two are stuck in time but they soon find completeness in each other’s pain and in the journey eventually falls in love.

Broken But Beautiful also stars Jitin Gulati, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sheetal Thakur. The series is produced by Sarita A Tanwar and Ekta Kapoor and with their mentorship and creative ideas, the series promises to be a great one on the digital platform. Broken But Beautiful has started streaming from today on ALTBalaji and has eleven episodes.
The series also have mellifluous songs that are sung by India's most celebrated musicians like Shreya Ghoshal, Dev Negi, Papon and Miss Pooja, Arijit Singh and the lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
