Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, who impressed the audiences with his performance in Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan, is all set to make his digital streaming on-screen debut with Amazon Prime Video's original series, Breathe. Created by Abundantia Entertainment, the second season of the hugely successful show is already under production will continue to be directed by Mayank Sharma.
Now as Abhishek replaces R Madhavan in the primary role, the actor talked about his foray into digital space and how the shift is special for him. Stating that the Indian audience has taken to the digital platform really well, junior Bachchan asserted, "Viewers like to watch anything that is engaging, regardless of the platform. It’s an exciting space to be involved with as it has cutting-edge storytelling," as quoted by a leading daily.

When asked what prompted him to take up Breathe 2, Abhishek said, "The story and vision of the director and the entire team excited me. I had also immensely enjoyed watching season 1 and felt this was a perfect follow-up." Unfortunately, he did not discuss much about his role as he was "not at liberty to discuss that."

In its first season, the gritty psychological thriller won over the hearts with a gripping storyline and bold narrative. While Amit Sadh returns in his award-winning role as Kabir Sawant, Abhishek will also be joined by Saiyami Kher. When prodded how he plans to handle the comparisons, Abhishek quipped, "It doesn’t bother me. I have to do my job to the best of my ability."
