Exclusive: Divyendu Sharma and Piyush Mishra join Gauahar Khan on the cast of web-show Salt City

A couple of days ago, we had informed our readers that Gauahar Khan had bagged Sunshine Productions’ upcoming digital series, titled Salt City. Khan, who made her digital debut with Eros Now’s Side Hero, took over the role from Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Padmaavat (2018) fame Anupriya Goenka who was dropped days before the series started rolling.

While Gauahar is already onboard to play the female lead in Salt City, there have been several new additions to the cast over the last few days. According to a credible source, Divyendu Sharma and Piyush Mishra have just joined the actress on the show. While Divyendu has already made his digital debut with Amazon Prime Video’s gangster drama Mirzapur, it is going to be the first time when Piyush Mishra will be seen in a web-show.

Besides Divyendu Sharma and Piyush Mishra, there is a long list of actors who have been signed on recently. And the list mostly includes television actors like Jitin Gulati, Pranay Pachauri, Vinita Joshi, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Manish Nawani, to name just a few.

On being asked on which digital platform the series will stream, the source reveals, “The makers have not locked any digital platform as yet, but they are going to approach Amazon Prime Videos very soon.”

“The series is being shot in Mumbai, and all the actors have started shooting for it. The makers will be wrapping it up pretty soon to begin the post-production work,” adds the source.

Salt City is being directed by debutant Rishabh Anupam Sahay.
